Christmas Wreath Workshop

Guided by a friendly instructor, you’ll craft your own beautiful wreath to take home and enjoy throughout the season. To make the evening extra special, we’ll be serving a delicious cheese and meat grazing board, perfect for sharing while you create. Tap Takeover - Ossett x Rat
Ossett Brewery, founded in 1998 by Bob Lawson in Ossett, West Yorkshire, is a respected independent brewer that began in a small brewpub behind The Brewers Pride and has since grown into a larger operation with its own pubs and national distribution, known for both classic and innovative ales. Its microbrewery arm, the Rat Brewery, located beneath the Rat & Ratchet pub in Huddersfield, was reinstated in 2011 and has gained fame for rodent-themed experimental beers such as “White Rat,” some of which have become part of Ossett’s core range. Together, Ossett and the Rat Brewery exemplify Yorkshire’s evolving beer culture, blending traditional craftsmanship in cask ales with modern, hop-forward experimentation, all while maintaining strong local pub and community roots
Pie Competition
The excitement is building for the upcoming Pie Competition at 1B Tap, where bakers of all skill levels are invited to showcase their best creations. Whether sweet or savoury, each entry must include six identical pies, giving judges a perfect chance to compare flavour, presentation, and consistency. From classic favourites to bold, inventive fillings, contestants are encouraged to get creative and bring their most impressive bakes. It’s set to be a fun, delicious event that celebrates community, craftsmanship, and of course—great pie.
Brass Band & Food | Grange Brass & San Guinseppe
Grange Brass will be at 1B Tap for an evening of joyful Christmas music, filling the space with festive tunes to get everyone into the holiday spirit. To make the night even better, San Giuseppe’s will be serving their delicious festive pizzas, adding a warm and tasty touch to the celebration. Donations will be gratefully accepted on the night, helping to support the band and their community work.

All our meats are prepared using our own seasoning blend and smoked over wood for hours until perfect! Smoking meat provides a rich flavour profile, especially with the right wood (we are very particular about the wood!). Smoked meats are naturally high in protein & amino acids and smoking food retains more essential vitamins & minerals. The slow, indirect heat allows for a gradual breakdown of foods, preserving their nutritional value & resulting in dishes that are as healthy as they are delicious.

Oktoberfest - Piggie Smalls
It all started when Alex and Will crossed paths doing charity work with North Wirral Round Table. Between flipping burgers for a good cause and swapping kitchen war stories, they realised they shared the same burning passion for cooking (and eating, obviously).
Alex was basically born into hospitality — his dad was a multiple rosette–awarded head chef, so the kitchen was his playground from day one. After 20 years in the industry, Alex can turn a hog into a masterpiece with one hand while saucing up your plate with the other.
Will grew up in his parents’ corner shop before moving into hospitality, climbing from potwash to assistant manager over eight years. Weekends meant running events for 50 to 250 guests — from ukulele festivals to hot air balloons. After a stint in the thrilling world of insurance, food called him back, and teaming up with Alex was the perfect return to the kitchen.
Together, they created Piggie Smalls — where top-tier hog roasts meet a sprinkle of fun, a dash of personality, and the kind of service that makes your guests talk about your event long after the last bite.
At Piggie Smalls, it’s more than just roasting meat — it’s about bringing people together, one juicy, crackling-covered slice at a time.
Paul Conner
Paul has been playing music professionally for the best part of 33 years and has played venues from Hong Kong to Accrington! He has a unique way of delivering his show with a very interactive approach and always gives the crowd the chance at being part of the show. With over 40 years of guitar playing under his belt, there’s very few ‘riffs’ he doesn’t know and nearly always surprises the requesters with a blast of their favourite song on his faithful old ‘strat’!

Our story began in 2003, when founder Tony Gartland met industrial chemist Derek Todd on a Brewlab course in Newcastle. What started as a shared passion for flavour and quality became one of Yorkshire’s earliest microbreweries, launching with a bespoke 20-barrel brew kit in 2005.
